As the Ahmed Makarfi faction of the Peoples Democratic Party insisted on going ahead with its National Convention on Wednesday, a Abuja High Court on Tuesday said anybody who flouts order of the court would be made to face the music.

Justice Okon Abang, who had earlier stopped the convention, frowned at the Federal High Court PortHarcourt, Rivers State which gave a judgement allowing the convention to go on.

On Tuesday, Justice Abang said, “Failure to comply with the order of the court will attract disciplinary action.

“The mighty will not escape just punishment. Whoever goes against the decision of this court will have themselves to blame.”

Counsel to faction chairman, Ali Modu-Sherrif, Niyi Akintola, said it was amazing the rate at which courts are handling cases of this nature without any regards to due process of the courts.

On Tuesday host governor, Nyisom Wike, said his state had already put on a gay look in preparation for the convention of the Makarfi-led faction.

He said all arrangements had been put in place to ensure a hitch-free convention.

This was despite the fact that the Court in Abuja had given an order to the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, not to allow the convention hold while also directing the Independent National Electoral Commission not to monitor the exercise.
